Rudesheim, Loreley and Heidelburg

We stopped a night in Rudesheim and our hotel overlooked a winery...grapes on many hillsides in the Cochem and middle Rhine area. (We got to Rud. late so we didn't have time to walk around but it is very quaint and charming too.)

We drove/ climbed up to the Loreley...there were many hikers coming from different directions to these overlooks.  The Rhine River was high and you could tell this bend is treacherous.  The fresh air and beautiful weather were delightful!  https://suite.io/erica-lange/2rsb2ev

By evening we reached Heidelburg, and our hotel (in an old brewery), was just a few blocks from the majestic Heidelburg bridge!  And looking over the other shoulder from the cobblestone street from our hotel was a full view of the Heidelburg castle.  (We loved the antiquated buildings, cobblestone streets and many fountains and platzes.)

This entrance to the bridge...many people (and lovers) were bustling around, hanging out taking pictures, drinking beer or kissing.

we got chilly at the restaurant next to the bridge...they had blankets for customers

It was so exciting to walk across this bridge at night.  I will never forget it as long as I live.
